Timberwood Village HOA Newsletter July 2009 Dear Homeowners, The Homeowners Association has signed a contract with U S Paving. The contractor will make permanent repairs to the road surface damaged by the old plastic speed bumps. We are also going to repair and widen the radius turn where Longwood Dr intersects with Swaying Pine Ct. US Paving was agreed to give estimates to any resident who wants to expand or repair their existing driveways while they are here doing the repairs to the roads in the subdivision. The Covenants of Timberwood Village states, that all driveways shall be concrete or paved asphalt. I would like to encourage all residents with a shortage of parking to consider expanding their current paved driveways if possible. You can contact US Paving at (304)724-5567. There are some guide lines regarding paving in the subdivision. The Berkeley County subdivision ordinance states, you cannot pave the gravel shoulder area in front of your home, if you are widening your driveway you may have to extend the steel culvert pipe that runs under your driveway. The pipe is part of the storm water management for the subdivision and must remain clear for water to flow through it. Be sure you know the location of your property lines so you don’t pave onto your neighbors property. If you have any questions or concerns about paving please contact me at 229-0247 We are having problems with residents dumping yard waste in the common areas. This spring with the help of another resident we picked up trash, brush and some old concrete that was dumped there. The problem is, with just one resident dumping any kind of yard waste in the common areas it encourages others to do the same, it makes it difficult to mow the grass and it could damage our contractors mower. The Inwood recycling center takes grass clippings, brush and dead plants. If you are caught dumping yard waste in the common areas it will be returned to your property. I have received complaints from resident who have voiced their concerns about children riding bicycles in their neighbor’s driveways. They are afraid their cars could be damaged by the bicycles. Parents please tell your children not to ride in your neighbor’s driveways, thank you. The next Board meeting is on July 26th @ 4:00 pm at Bobby Pevarniks home on 285 Longwood Dr. Sincerely,
Bobby Pevarnik, President |
