Dear Homeowners,

As the new President of the Homeowners Association I would like to outline this year’s agenda. We have achieved our first goal with the construction of the bus shelter at a total cost of $2,532.08.

We have contacted the WV Traffic Safety Division in an effort to remove the passing zone at the entrance of the subdivision. The state informed us that the problem should be corrected when they remark the road in April or May of this year.

To the residents who have noticed a variable water pressure (they didn’t have before), the Berkeley Co PSWD has tested the water main, and it was an “acceptable 70 psi”.

We have received a complaint from the Berkeley Co. Sewer Service that some residents or their guests have been parking their cars on the gravel road with metal gates. This is the county's only access to their equipment, I ask that residents refrain from parking there, thank you.

The Homeowners Association is consulting with a paving contractor our goal is to establish the condition of the roads in the subdivision; to determine when the roads will need to be re-paved; and what it will cost. So we can set aside funds to pay for it.

With spring around the corner and residents walking and riding bicycles with their children. I have been asked by several residents about the old speed bumps and they have voiced their concerns about speeding. The board members and I have decided not to reinstall the old speed bumps. They were deemed to be impractical and too harsh when driving over them, and they will be sold.

I realize there are residents who are adamantly opposed to any kind of speed bump, and there are residents who want some kind of device to control speeding. The board members respects both sides of this issue.

We have bids for two different size speed humps. The speed humps are designed to be less abusive to cars and the snow plow can drive over them and they will reduce speeding. Any new speed humps will be placed in same locations as the old ones. I did a test drive over both sizes of the speed humps, and the smaller one is sufficient for our needs. In an effort to give all residents a voice in this matter please complete the survey (below) and return it to us.
