Timberwood Village HOA
Newsletter AUGUST 2007

Dear Homeowners

As president of the homeowners association, I want to give you an update on the progress of the HOA BOD. As you may have noticed, the passing zone at the entrance of the subdivision has been removed, this should make it safer when entering and exiting the subdivision.

The old plastic speed bumps have been sold and the damaged caused by them has been repaired.

Timberwood Village is now being added to the Berkeley County All Terrain Vehicle Ordinance Attachment. This means it is now illegal for anyone, of any age to operate or ride an ATV on any streets in Timberwood Village. I realize this action has a negative affect on the residents who rode their ATVs with respect to their neighbors and the subdivision speed limit. But with safety concerns and the number of complaints received, it left us with no option. The ordinance on dirt bikes states that it is illegal for any juvenile to operate or ride a dirt bike on any streets in Timberwood Village Subdivision. To review the ATV ordinance  Click Here.

We still have a serious problem with residents trespassing on the land east of the subdivision. The property owners have had problems with erosion caused by the ATVs and dirt bikes riders cutting fences and removing no trespassing signs and starting fires. The most disturbing incident involved the property owner's grandchildren being chased by riders on ATVs and dirt bikes, while they were on their grandparent's property.

I have met or spoken with Berkeley County Commissioners Bill Stubblefield , Steve Teufel and Berkeley County Sheriff Randy Smith. I also spoke with WV State Delegate, Jonathan Miller. They have been very helpful in adding Timberwood Village to the ATV Ordinance.

The Sheriff's office has asked that our residents to assist their office by reporting any violation of the ATV Ordinance, or any other disturbance.

The next board meeting is on September 16, 2007 @ 4:00 pm at the home of Bobby Pevarnik,  285 Longwood Dr.

Sincerely,

Bobby Pevarnik, President
Timberwood Village HOA
